Who is Auntie Nellie?

I am relatively new to Reborn Dolls. I stumbled upon a really realistic doll picture in April 2023. Needless to say, that was not an artist rendered reborn. However, I was intrigued. I wanted to know how to find the realistic baby dolls that looked like me. I began searching Reborn Dolls and realistic dolls and eventually found a community of realistic doll collectors and artists.

After a little research, I commissioned a custom Reborn Doll in August 2023. While chatting with the artist and continuing my research, I decided to try the art of reborning on my own shortly there after. I love the process of bringing the blank vinyl pieces to life. I had finally found an outlet for my creative side. As a collector, I enjoy collecting the dolls and ALL of the accessories. So, there is always something brewing in my lab aka craft room aka the Happy Place.

Reborn Art

I use Artist Grade and Reborn Specific Acrylic Air Dry Paints, Mediums and Varnishes to create my reborn dolls. I primarily create Ethnic or African-American babies. I use both Human hair and high quality Mohair rooted with 2-3 hairs at a time in a process called micro-rooting. I am still learning but I l love the process. My dolls are weighted and filled with glass or poly beads and quality polyester filling. All of that combined to create a realistic looking and weighted reborn baby ready to be loved.
